Thornæs Danish Whisky - When in Stout

When in Stout is the result of a unique collaboration between Thornæs Distillery and Kølster Brewery. After nine months of maturing Kølster's own Stout Ale in three of our whisky casks, the casks were returned to us so we could create a whisky infused with the rich and distinctive flavour notes from the stout's dark, full-bodied character.

The result is When in Stout: a bold Single Malt, initially matured in 125-litre ex-bourbon casks and then finished in casks that previously held Kølster's Stout Ale.

• Nose: Caramel and candied sugar
• Palate: Dried fruit, vanilla, chocolate, and roasted coffee
• Finish: Sweet spices, more chocolate, and a touch of mocha

Malt variety: Evergreen Pale Ale
ABV: 49%
