Thornæs Danish Whisky: Single Malt - 1st Release

The clue is in the name. 1st Release of course refers to the very first whisky ever to be released from our distillery. A true piece of our history.

Thornæs Single Malt Whisky 1st Release is a Double Cask that started it's journey in small Danish Oak casks and reached its end in a large 250 liter Bourbon hogshead.

The two-step maturation has seen the Danish Oak develop the main character of the spirit with sweet notes of toffee, but also reach spices like pepper and mild tobacco. Afterwards the Bourbon has prolonged the proces and mellowed the spirit further by adding vanilla and caramel to the mix. A very unique whisky with a lot of sweetness and rich complexity.
